DRAKO Dragon
THE PROJECT
CONTEXT
Drako set out to create a new category of electric vehicle that combines hypercar performance with the versatility of an SUV. The ambition was to deliver extreme power, everyday usability, and distinctive design in a single architecture.
ROLE
Granstudio partnered from ideation to prototype, shaping the vehicle concept, design language, and phygital development process using DigiPHY.

THE SHIFT
The challenge was not simply to design a high-performance SUV
but to reconcile two seemingly opposite qualities: hypercar performance and everyday practicality. The project reframed the vehicle from a traditional SUV into a new typology of EV, where performance, space, and versatility coexist.

“When Drako Motors told us what car they envisioned, we initially thought it was impossible. Until it was not.”
APPROACH
SENSE
We began with the interior experience, defining spatial priorities such as comfort, seating for five, and generous cargo capacity.
SHAPE
Through DIGIPHY, we developed the vehicle inside out, balancing aerodynamics, performance cues, and architectural clarity.
MAKE
Mixed reality exploration allowed rapid evaluation of multiple configurations, accelerating the design process and aligning performance and usability.

"The Dragon is, unsurprisingly, very fast. Aside from the 1.9-second sprint, it can also hit a top speed of 200 mph"
OUTCOME

Drako Dragon emerged as a new typology of hyper-SUV
Pairing a 2000 HP electric drivetrain with aversatile architecture. Signature features such as gullwing doors and aerodynamic surfaces combine extreme performance with everyday usability.
WHAT CHANGED

phygital workflows can accelerate complex vehicle development

The project demonstrated how phygital workflows can accelerate complex vehicle development while enabling new architectural ideas. It proved that hypercar performance and SUV practicality are not opposing goals, but can coexist in a new electric mobility category.
